The Iraqi parliament resumes its sessions next week, and there is no date for electing the president
Askar told Shafaq News Agency, "The House of Representatives will resume its regular sessions next week, and that the sessions that will be held will be regular to discuss, read and vote on laws and not to elect the President of the Republic."
He added, "The parliamentary committees have begun their work to host ministers and officials and follow up on the work of ministries and state departments."
The House of Representatives resumed its work last Wednesday after stopping for several months due to a sit-in by supporters of the Sadrist movement in its building in protest against the nomination of the coordination framework, Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, for the post of prime minister.
