About a month after the protests began, Iranians continue their steadfastness in the face of the authorities' repression, which has intensified its security operations in the face of demonstrations that have begun to turn into a national uprising, according to " [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] .
The American network draws attention to the violent confrontations taking place in large parts of the country, which have become bloody arenas for fighting and suppressing the protesters rising up against the Iranian regime.

bloody suppression

Sanandaj, the capital of Iran's Kurdistan Province, is facing the largest proportion of this repression, according to video footage, and in his testimony to "CNN", one of the demonstrators in the city said that the protesters took to the street to protest, despite the almost complete cut off of the Internet in the region.
The witness added that “the Iranian forces opened fire on the houses on Wednesday night, using military bullets,” noting that he had never heard such a sound, and that the people were very afraid.
A video clip, apparently filmed from the rooftops, showed what appeared to be clashes between young protesters throwing stones at the police, and security forces who used live bullets in their confrontation.
Activists in Sanandaj, located 400 kilometers west of the Iranian capital, Tehran, say that large numbers of Iranian Revolutionary Guards are participating in the crackdown, along with the local police.
And the Kurdish "Henghao" human rights organization revealed the death of a 7-year-old boy in his mother's arms, on Sunday, after security forces opened fire on a crowd of demonstrators.
One of the demonstrators said that the security forces shoot children and adults alike, noting that “the wounded do not go to hospitals, because if they go there in civilian clothes, the police will arrest them.”
CNN reported that while it seems impossible to independently verify the number of dead during these clashes, the horrific images circulating on the Internet and witness statements indicate that "Sandang province is witnessing bloodshed."

Targeting vital centers

Despite the government’s repeated claims to restore calm, it appears, according to CNN, that the protests are still ongoing, and activists and experts reveal that they have turned into a “national uprising, and one of the biggest challenges the regime has faced since its establishment.”
In this context, Roham Alvandi, associate professor of history at the London School of Economics, told CNN: “This is not a protest in order to demand reforms, but an uprising calling for the end of the Islamic Republic,” adding that “these protests are very different from what we have seen before.”
Demonstrators have recently targeted what the CNN report described as the "economic and political nerve centers of the regime", through confrontations with the police, and protests in conservative cities that represent the regime's power base, in addition to protesting in economic and industrial institutions.
The workers of the vital oil sector in the country entered the demonstrations line after carrying out a strike this week, amid calls by activists to start more strikes and protests.
These demonstrations began in the form of protests over wages, before turning into anti-regime protests, where workers chanted “Death to the dictator” – in reference to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, according to the American newspaper.
Experts say a large-scale protest by workers and traders may represent another escalation in the protests.
In this regard, associate professor of history at the London School of Economics, Roham Alvandi, states: “If there is a nationwide general strike, what can the government really do (..) This would completely paralyze the state and show its powerlessness in the face of this movement “.
CNN highlighted that labor strikes have great symbolism in Iranian history, explaining that the strikes and protests of oil and gas refineries in 1979 played a decisive role in the popular movement that overthrew Shah Muhammad Reza Pahlavi and paved the way for the Islamic Republic.
