, a deputy from the Sadiqoun bloc, Zainab Juma al-Moussawi, called on the security services to arrest former Finance Minister Ali Allawi because of wasting public money.
Al-Moussawi said in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of it, that "the tax issue is the largest theft in the history of Iraq, with a value of 3.7 trillion dinars from the trust account of the Tax Authority at the Rafidain Bank, which was done by editing 247 instruments to five contracting and oil services companies from September 2021 to August 2022, through which this large amount was delegated from the account of the General Authority for Taxes to these companies.
The statement added, "The theft of 3.7 trillion dinars occurred during the period of Ali Allawi's tenure of the ministry, which is the largest case of financial corruption in the history of Iraq and irrefutable evidence of his involvement in wasting money after the issue of changing the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar against the US dollar, which caused harm to employees and citizens in particular and the Iraqi economy in general." ".
He stressed, "The necessity for the Ministry of Interior to move to address the office of the international company Interpol in Baghdad to arrest Allawi, who currently lives in London and whose address is known to the Iraqi authorities."
The statement indicated that "the head of the caretaker government, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, did not bring a minister except with dozens of indicators on corruption issues, and Al-Kazemi himself is also involved in corruption and waste of public money, and therefore Al-Kazemi must be held accountable before the Iraqi people."
