Today, Sunday, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced that the second phase of the e-governance project is nearing completion, while indicating that it is in the process of providing an electronic application to grant the citizen a certificate of issuance and validity of issuance.
The secretariat's spokesman, Haider Majid, said, "The e-governance project contains several programs and stages, and for each program and stage, a ceiling and specific timelines are set."
He added, "The completed stages were carried out according to the times that were set, and there was no delay or delay," stressing that "the first stage of preparing the electronic document management program has ended, which included linking the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers with the ministries electronically."
He pointed out, "The second phase will also end and according to the specified timings, which includes linking the entities not connected to the Ministry and the governorates to the secured government network, represented by the Electronic Documents Device Program."
And he continued, "The third phase includes linking the directorates affiliated to the independent bodies and governorates to the network, and the establishment phase was launched, represented by the work of the National Data Center Department, which has completed many of its work, and the center started the process of setting up after all the equipment, mechanisms and devices for the automation process for electronic programs and works were received. Civilians are now underway to install these devices."
He stressed, "There is a plan to train 4,000 employees in all institutions to implement the project, which the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers is working on through the National Data Center Department."
He pointed out, "There is another stage that includes the establishment of the Ur portal, which has so far included 109 electronic services provided to citizens," noting that "the e-governance project is continuing until reaching the process of comprehensive digital transformation."
He stated, "There is high-level coordination with all institutions, and work is underway to cancel the validity of paper issuances and convert them to electronic ones, through the (GEOR) application, which will be granted to the citizen and who will receive the issuance certificate or the authenticity of the issuance certificate."
He stressed that "work is continuing in the center of the Supreme Committee for E-Governance, in direct cooperation and coordination with all official authorities, and under the direct supervision of the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers."
