The Iraqi Foreign Ministry informs Japan of Sudan's movements: With his government, Iraq will be stable
Shafaq News/ On Monday, the Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein, briefed the new Japanese ambassador to Baghdad about the moves made by Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani to form a government, which he said will lead to stabilizing the internal situation in Iraq.
This came while receiving a copy of the credentials of Matsumoto Hotoshi, the new Japanese ambassador to Iraq, according to a statement to the ministry's media received by Shafaq News Agency.
Bilateral relations between Baghdad and Tokyo were discussed, and ways to upgrade them to meet the aspirations of both friendly peoples.
Minister Hussein stressed that "Iraq's geographical location represents an element of strength in the region due to its large reserves of natural resources."
Hussein touched on the dialogues that the Prime Minister-designate is conducting with the political forces in order to form a government as soon as possible, which will lead to the stability of the internal situation in Iraq, according to the statement. He affirmed his support for the new ambassador's efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries and develop bilateral cooperation to achieve common interests.
For his part, the Japanese ambassador offered his congratulations to the minister on the occasion of the election of the President of the Republic and assigning the Prime Minister to form the next government, stressing the desire of his country's government to strengthen bilateral relations, and in a way that contributes to enhancing cooperation and joint coordination at various levels.
The Japanese ambassador said, "Iraq is a strategic country in the region and has balanced relations with its geographical neighbors and the countries of the world, and that Japan is determined to improve its relations with Iraq."
