    His Excellency, the President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, affirmed that Basra Governorate is Iraq’s marine lung and an essential resource for the national economy due to its riches, praising the sacrifices of its sons on the path to liberation and advancement of the country’s reality in various fields.
    This came during his reception, today, Tuesday, October 25, 2022, in Baghdad, with a delegation that included a number of members of the House of Representatives from Basra Governorate, who offered congratulations to His Excellency on the occasion of his assumption of the position of President of the Republic.
    During the meeting, members of the visiting delegation gave a detailed explanation to the President, during which they pointed out a set of obstacles facing the province, expressing their hope for His Excellency's efforts to support Basra to improve its service and economic reality.
    For his part, the President of the Republic welcomed the visiting delegation, appreciating their congratulations and good blessings, and stressed the importance of the role of members of the House of Representatives in expressing the needs of cities and the vigorous work they require that allows providing job opportunities and securing the requirements of a decent living, noting that the representative in Parliament is the main link between the masses. And the various state institutions that express, according to the traditions of democracy, the needs of its voters and their cities, and follow up with the relevant authorities.
    Speaking about the suffering of Basra, the President of the Republic indicated that he is optimistic about the new government and the services it will provide, whether in the capital, Baghdad or other provinces, stressing the importance of initiating cultural and scientific development supported by construction and creating the means for a decent living for the citizen, as His Excellency indicated the necessity of expediting plans and projects that support The ambition of the citizens of Basra, and the ambition of all Iraqis, to advance Basra and to make it an image and an example of the modern life that Basra deserves from us.
    In this regard, His Excellency the President affirmed his determination not to spare any effort to advance the situation of Basra and the rest of the provinces, in a manner that suits Iraqis and deserves a free and dignified life.
