    Economy News - Baghdad
The Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mustafa Ghaleb Makheef, confirmed, on Wednesday, that the bank’s development initiatives amounted to 18 trillion dinars and contributed to moving the wheel of the Iraqi economy, and provided thousands of job opportunities.
And the Central Bank's media stated in a statement, "The Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mustafa Ghaleb Mokhiv, received the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Mrs. Jeanine Plasschaert."
During the meeting, they discussed the financial and economic conditions and their development in the interest of Iraq.
He stressed that "the Central Bank of Iraq launched development initiatives that amounted to (18) trillion dinars, which contributed to moving the wheel of the Iraqi economy, and provided thousands of job opportunities."
He added, "The Bank is performing its roles defined by law and is continuing to provide initiatives to support government trends in providing job opportunities for young people, and achieving their goals to implement their projects," stressing "the need to advance the financial and banking sector in line with international standards."
