Today, Monday, the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, considered that all previous projects were disbursement of funds and were marred by suspicions of corruption.

The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement received by Alsumaria News, "Al-Sudani made an inspection visit to the Baghdad Municipality building, and chaired a meeting attended by the general managers of the Secretariat and the municipal departments in Baghdad, and listened to a detailed presentation on the work and the most important problems facing the work of the municipal departments." and the challenges that stand in the way of providing the required services to citizens.

Al-Sudani stressed during the meeting, that "the citizen complains about the weakness of the service side, and he needs basic services such as cleaning work, and covering roads and streets, and he is waiting for a lot from the government."

The Prime Minister referred to "the extent of the abuses within the regions, residential neighborhoods and markets, which caused the reluctance of service projects," stressing that "all previous projects were money disbursement and were marred by suspicions of corruption."

He also stressed, according to the statement, that "the dominant feature of the situation in the capital, Baghdad, is traffic congestion, and it needs real mechanisms to address it or mitigate its severity," noting that "the basic design of the city of Baghdad is more than 50 years old."

Al-Sudani directed to "receive any new ideas that contribute to improving services," noting that "the ministerial curriculum has put the provision of services in priority, and directed to use the engineering effort of all mechanisms and capabilities in the ministries and some state departments."

He indicated that he "assigned a specialized team to study the stalled projects to identify problems and obstacles and find solutions to them," and indicated that "the establishment of new projects is under study, according to specializations and according to the ministerial curriculum.
