, President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faeq Zaidan, confirmed, on Thursday, that the assassination of the leaders of Al-Nasr is "a treacherous crime that has no legal basis."
Zidan said during the official forum on the occasion of the third anniversary of the martyrdom of the leaders of victory, which was held at the Al-Rasheed Hotel in Baghdad, that "the tragic memory of the martyrdom of the leaders of victory, the martyr Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and the martyr Qassem Soleimani and their companions, following a treacherous, cowardly crime that has no moral or legal basis is undoubtedly a sad memory." And painful.”
He added, "The loss is great and will not be compensated," noting that "an engineer with human qualities rarely combines in one person, so the loss was and will remain great."
He pointed out, "It is the duty of every lover of the martyr leaders to perpetuate their memory and record for history what is known about them to inform future generations of the heroic role they played during a dark period in the history of the Iraqi state, when the terrorist ISIS gangs occupied a number of Iraqi provinces."
He pointed out, "ISIS was seeking to establish a state of myth, but the fatwa of the rational authority and the response of the people of Iraq to it thwarted this criminal scheme."
He continued, "The martyr Al-Muhandis had important positions in protecting the judiciary institution from the erroneous jurisprudence that was expressed, whether by some personalities or the House of Representatives, towards the judiciary institution."
And he added, “The responsibility of the judiciary to hold accountable those who committed this crime is a double responsibility, because the duty of the judiciary basically under the law in general is to punish everyone who commits a crime, but the moral responsibility in remembering the martyr’s positive attitudes towards the judicial institution constitutes an additional incentive to perform this duty imposed on the judiciary.” according to law".
Regarding the reasons for not holding those who committed the crime accountable, Zaidan replied, "The judiciary deals with any crime presented to it according to the evidence stipulated in the law, and this evidence is presented to the judiciary by the security authorities that undertake the investigation."
And he stressed, “The judiciary will not hesitate to take legal measures against anyone who proves evidence of his participation in this crime in any way, whatever his position and location, and the credibility of that is the issuance of an arrest warrant against the former President of the United States of America, who publicly admitted that he was the one who ordered the commission of this crime, so The judiciary considered this sufficient evidence to take legal action against him.
