Official opposes giving oil ministry to Kurds

A member of the Iraqi ruling State of Law Coalition opposed to giving the ministry of oil to Kurds in the state. A Parliament Deputy from the southern province of Basra, Awatif Na’ama, told Radio al-Murbad that deputies from the province want the ministry to be given to them and are against giving it to Kurds. Stating that there are Shiite lines that want the ministry to be given to Kurds, he went on to say that their demand is from people of the province and there would be protests and uproar in Basra if the ministry is not given to an official from the province.
