    [rtl]Baghdad-Iraq today:[/rtl]
[rtl]The Ministry of Water Resources announced the gradual return of life to the Hawizeh marsh as a result of investing in rain water. [/rtl]
[rtl]The director of the Marshes and Wetlands Projects Department in Maysan, Salam Saadoun, said in a statement that "the procedures for diverting part of the rainwater towards the Hawizeh marshes contributed to a gradual return to life in the marshes of Maysan province."[/rtl]
[rtl]Saadoun added, "The ministry has invested in the fall of rainwater and diverted it to the Hawizeh marsh through its three feeders (Al-Husayji, Umm Al-Tus and Al-Zubayr), which led to acceptable inundation rates compared to previous years. "[/rtl]
[rtl]And he indicated that "there is high coordination between the Iraqi Marshes and Wetlands Restoration Center, represented by the Department of Marsh and Wetland Projects in Maysan and the Water Resources Directorate in the governorate to ensure that rainwater is invested to strengthen the southern marshes."[/rtl]
[rtl]He pointed out that "water releases resulting from rainfall have positively affected the environmental and biological reality of the marshes."[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "Rain water has contributed to improving the economic situation of the marsh residents, who depend on fishing sources and the use of vegetable fodder for livestock."[/rtl]
[rtl]It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Water Resources is working on the optimal use of rainwater for the purpose of increasing water releases towards the Iraqi marshes, which suffered from scarcity during the last period.[/rtl]
