The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement, which “NAS” received a copy of, (January 29, 2023), that “Al-Yasiri will start his work duties by holding meetings and discussions with representatives of the executive and legislative presidencies, as well as deliberating with the judiciary in order to draw features of a road map for conducting required constitutional amendments.

He added, "This step comes as a commitment from the government to implement some of the contents of the ministerial platform that was approved by Parliament on October 27-2022, and pursuant to the agreement of the political blocs on the need to make constitutional amendments to be agreed upon, and to avoid recurring political deadlocks that occurred in different stages." Especially in recent times."

He pointed out that "this procedure comes in pursuit of the government to achieve the required smoothness of work in the joints of the state, in accordance with previous decisions of the Federal Supreme Court and the positions of the Supreme Judicial Council, which involved calling for constitutional amendments, in addition to the fact that this step represents support from the government for public opinion in Iraq about the actual need to make these adjustments.
