{Politics: Al-Furat News} The religious authority, Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Bashir Al-Najafi, said: "The phenomenon of terrorism is the product of policies and agendas that have nothing to do with religion."
A statement from his office, of which {Euphrates News} received a copy, stated that the Najafi religious authority "received the Italian ambassador, Maurizio Cricant, and during the meeting, bilateral relations between Iraq and the State of Italy were discussed, and the need to advance relations in a way that serves the two peoples."
The Najafi authority affirmed that "Islam is keen on achieving security and stability and regulating social and economic relations among peoples."
For his part, the Italian ambassador gave an explanation of his diplomatic vision and ways to strengthen relations between the Iraqi and Italian peoples.
