Today, Wednesday, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein revealed the details of his talks with his Iranian counterpart in Baghdad, pointing out that the government has taken many measures to protect the borders with Iran.
Hussein said, in a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart in Baghdad, "We touched on a group of issues of concern to the two countries, and that the security and border situation is part of the talks."
He added, "The Iraqi government has taken a set of measures to protect the borders with Iran," pointing out that "the Iraqi constitution prohibits the use of Iraqi lands to attack neighboring countries."
And the foreign minister continued, “We touched on the Iranian dues related to the purchase of gas,” explaining that “the issue of Iranian dues was part of our discussions in Washington.”
And he indicated, "There are steps in the file of the railway link," adding: "We also discussed regional and international issues and the results of our visit to Washington related to the Iranian side."
The Foreign Minister affirmed, “Reaching understandings between Iran and America is important for Iraq.”
