Today, Tuesday, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced the transfer of the Sadr City development project to an international company, while clarifying the details of the residential complex in the city.
The spokesman for the Municipality, Haider Majeed, said in a statement, "The project to develop and rehabilitate Al-Sadr City receives direct attention and sponsorship from the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani, given what this city represents from the ancient history of the capital, Baghdad, as well as the interest in the segments of the residents of this city."
He pointed out that "there are several measures taken by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, after being assigned by the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, for the purpose of preparing the project, including the allocation of a special area for the project," stressing that "about 5,700 dunums have been allocated for the project in favor of the Baghdad Municipality."
He explained that "the project has now been referred to a reputable international company, for the purpose of developing special designs and then approving them, and referring them to reputable companies for the purpose of implementation."
He pointed out that "the number of housing units for the project is 90,000 housing units, as it will be an integrated city, containing all health, educational and administrative services, in addition to green spaces and recreational places, as well as a network of roads linking this city with neighboring cities."
