The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, confirmed today, Wednesday, while chairing the meeting of the committee concerned with the development of Sadr City, that the committee concerned with the development of Sadr City has allocated an area of 5,700 dunums for the project.

The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, confirmed today, Wednesday, while chairing the meeting of the committee concerned with the development of Sadr City, that the committee concerned with the development of Sadr City has allocated an area of 5,700 dunums for the project.
And the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers stated in a statement, "The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, presided over the meeting of the committee concerned with supervising the Sadr City development project, to discuss the latest measures taken by the relevant authorities."
Al-Ghazi confirmed, "The project receives direct government attention, after its idea was put forward by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, in order to advance the service reality of Sadr City, to be attractive to the population and add a civilized and modern touch to the capital, Baghdad, and a positive step to end the randomness in the distribution of housing units on the outskirts of the capital." .
He pointed out that "the committee worked to allocate an area of (5,700) dunums for the project for the benefit of the Municipality of Baghdad, and to end the conflicts and overlaps between the relevant official authorities, as well as to finalize the file for including the basic designs project in the 2021 budget, and referring it to a solid company to prepare designs and provide consultations."
It is scheduled to construct a residential complex that includes 90,000 housing units, containing all educational, health and administrative services, as well as a network of roads linking the complex to neighboring areas.
The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Baghdad, the undersecretaries of the Ministries of Planning and Finance, and the advisor to the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, as well as a number of general managers in the Municipality of Baghdad, according to the statement.
