    Today, the Parliamentary Integrity Committee discussed with a delegation from Transparency International and the German Agency for International Cooperation ways to enhance the oversight role of the legislative authority and all oversight bodies and institutions concerned with combating corruption, in the presence of the chairman and members of the committee.[/size]
    [size=45]During the meeting, the role of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee in combating financial and administrative corruption and strengthening oversight work throughout Iraq was discussed through communication with other oversight sectors, led by the Integrity Commission, the Financial Supervision Bureau and the Supreme Judicial Council.[/size]
    [size=45]The chairman and members of the committee stressed the need to open two regional offices for Transparency International and the German Agency for International Cooperation in Iraq to exchange experiences with the concerned Iraqi institutions and bodies.[/size]
    [size=45]The two sides also discussed the standards followed by the organization in determining the corruption index, especially with regard to Iraq, in addition to ways to recover Iraqi funds smuggled abroad.[/size]
    [size=45]For their part, the members of the German delegation expressed their willingness to cooperate with the Parliamentary Integrity Committee in the field of developing anti-corruption mechanisms and strengthening the oversight role in a way that contributes to reducing corruption crimes in all its forms.[/size]
