    Shafaq News/ Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani confirmed, on Sunday, Iraq's desire to raise the level of trade exchange and activate joint committees with Egypt, announcing a study of signing joint agreements between the two countries in the middle of this year.



    The media office of Al-Sudani stated in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, that the latter and his Egyptian counterpart, Mustafa Madbouly, chaired today a meeting for official talks held between the delegations of the two countries, as part of the official visit to the capital, Cairo, which he arrived this morning.
    Al-Sudani referred to the fraternal relations that bind the peoples of the two brotherly countries, and the development of the path of joint cooperation, at various levels and fields, expressing his pleasure at answering the invitation and constructive meeting with the Egyptian side.
    He stressed Iraq's desire to work on developing relations, raising the level of trade exchange, and activating joint committees between the two countries to the level of implementation.
    The Iraqi side expressed openness towards strengthening bilateral cooperation frameworks with the Arab Republic of Egypt, and studying the signing of a number of joint agreements during the work of the Joint Higher Committee, which is scheduled to be held during the coming month of May or June.
    For his part, the Egyptian Prime Minister stressed the importance of bilateral work and cooperation between the two countries to face the effects of the various crises and challenges that the world is witnessing. He also affirmed the Egyptian government's desire to take serious executive steps and tangible action regarding cooperation between the two countries, by signing memorandums of understanding in the fields of economy and trade.
