Today, Monday, the Ministry of Interior announced the launch of the third generation of the electronic passport.
The government statement said, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani inaugurates the third generation electronic passport project with (8) advantages."
Among these advantages, according to the statement, is "the manufacture of the electronic passport with the highest internationally approved specifications that are not subject to manipulation and forgery, and the adoption of the national card exclusively for the issuance of the electronic passport and the absence of the need for paper documents (clones) and personal photos."
In addition, "the total time required of the citizen inside the passport issuance, printing and receiving office does not exceed (30) minutes, and the citizen can apply for the passport through the electronic application of smart phones."
