Shafaq News/ The spokesman for the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Mahmoud Muhammad, expressed, on Wednesday, his party's support for adopting the voter registry of the Independent High Commission for Federal Elections in holding the legislative elections for the Kurdistan Parliament.
In a statement he made to reporters today in Erbil, Muhammad touched on the meeting between his party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, that the meeting will focus on the issue of the components in the region, and how they will participate in the elections, indicating that the Kurdistan Democrat recommended his institution for elections to leave this issue to the components that decide in what form and mechanism You participate in the elections, and we support any choice you make, and we will not be guardians of it.
He added that his party supports that the voter register, through which the legislative elections that took place in all of Iraq in the year 2021 were held, be the basis for those included in casting their votes in the Kurdistan Parliament elections to be held at the end of this year.
And Muhammad added that his party agreed to activate the High Electoral Commission in the region, stressing that it is necessary to hold elections during this year in the Kurdistan Region.
