On Saturday, the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee expressed its support for Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani’s directive not to include job grades in the 2023 budget, and while confirming the inclusion of canceled contracts from the Iraqi army in the budget, it proposed a solution to fill the shortage of cadres in some institutions without opening the door to volunteering.
Committee member Waad Mahmoud Al-Qadu said, "Their contracts from the various security services have been dealt with, their situation has been addressed and the necessary financial resources have been secured in the emergency security law, and also the canceled contracts from the Iraqi army have been included in the budget for the current year 2023, given that previously not all of those who were covered were covered." Terminate their contracts and return them to service again.”
And regarding the inclusion of job grades for the purpose of opening the door to volunteering in the ranks of the armed forces, Al-Quddo stressed that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani was clear in his statements that the budget does not bear more jobs." The member of Parliamentary Security added, "The Iraqi people cannot be transformed into Security forces and employees.
He pointed out, "The sagging has become evident in the joints of the Iraqi state, and it is not possible to militarize society," stressing "the need to change the methods of defending Iraq through the introduction of digital and technological devices instead of human resources."
He pointed out that "the budget does not include any new job grades, and there are efforts to support the private sector, private companies and national production, and work to reduce the disguised unemployment that has begun to afflict the Iraqi people."
On how to address the shortage of civil defense cadres, Al-Quddo suggested "exploiting slackness in civil institutions and working on transferring some jobs in ministries and security institutions, and transferring them to the Civil Defense Directorate and any other security institution that needs blood."
With regard to securing the Iraqi airspace, Al-Quddo stressed that "the Iraqi airspace has been completely covered by the air defense system (radars), and it has been installed in four important areas in Iraq."
He noted "the work on contracting low-altitude air defense systems, given that the systems that have been installed are for high-altitude aircraft." Ended 29 / H
