Yesterday, Sunday, deputies denied the existence of an imminent change in the government of Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, but they talked about the possibility of preparing a full report on performance when the opportunity becomes available.
"So far, the reports are conflicting, but according to the current perspective, there is no change in the cabinet of any ministry," Ahmed al-Fawwaz, a representative of the State of Law coalition, said in a press statement.
Representative Ahmed Al-Fawwaz, however, added that “it is possible to re-evaluate, according to what is in effect as a mechanism for the forces of the coordination framework in particular, and the State Administration Coalition, by re-evaluating the work and performance of ministers, six months after they assume their duties, and evaluating them according to the requirements of the current stage, which requires the government to implement its government program.”
He explained, "Until now, there has been no preparation of a report regarding the evaluation of the ministries, and when there is preparation for a full and detailed report, it is possible to identify the ministries that failed to perform their work."
For his part, independent MP Salah Al-Tamimi said, in press statements, that "there is no truth to these reports, and the ministers are still at the beginning of their work."
Al-Tamimi added, "In the event that there are observations on the work of the ministries, there will be other words, but so far they have started their administrative work only, and as for service work, they are waiting for the approval of the general budget to start their work."
And he believed that “the imbalance in the work lies in the governorates, given that most of the powers have been transferred to the governorates, while the ministries have become a pretext,” explaining that “most of the service departments are linked to the governorates, not to the ministries.”
It is noteworthy that the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani won, on Thursday (October 27, 2022), the confidence of the Iraqi Parliament.
At the time, the House of Representatives voted to grant confidence to Fouad Hussein as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hayan Abdul-Ghani Abdul-Zahra Al-Sawad as Minister of Oil, Taif Sami Muhammad Al-Shukraji as Minister of Finance, Thabet Muhammad Saeed Reda Al-Abbasi as Minister of Defense, Abdul Amir Kamel Al-Shammari as Minister of Interior, and Saleh Mahdi Muttalib Al-Hasnawi as Minister of Health. Khaled Battal Najm Abdullah Al-Jughifi, Minister of Industry and Minerals, and Atheer Dawood Salman Al-Ghurairy, Minister of Trade.
Likewise, Khaled Salam Saeed Shawani was voted as Minister of Justice, Ziyad Ali Fadel Al-Ruzeej as Minister of Electricity, Abbas Jabr Ubadah Al-Alayawi as Minister of Agriculture, Naim Abd Yasser Al-Aboudi as Minister of Education, Ibrahim Names Yassin Musa Al-Jubouri as Minister of Education, Razaq Muhibis Ajami Al-Saadawi as Minister of Transport, and Hiyam Abboud Kazem. Al-Yasiri, Minister of Communications, Aoun Diab Abdullah, Minister of Water Resources, and Ahmed Jassim Al-Asadi, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs.
Also in the session, Evan Faiq Yaqoub Jabro was voted as Minister of Migration and Displacement, Ahmed Muhammad Hussein Qasim Al-Mubarqa’ as Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Fakak Ahmed Al-Badrani as Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, and Muhammad Tamim as Minister of Planning.
Whereas, on Saturday (December 3, 2022), the Ministers of Environment, Nizar Amidi, and Minister of Construction and Housing, Benkin Rikani, were voted on.
