    Next October, the capital, Baghdad, will host a conference for the internationalization of higher education in Iraq with the participation of 90 international and Iraqi universities. Governmental, private and international universities are sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and in the presence of "Al-Sabah". The upcoming conference coincides with the visit of a delegation from the "International Medical Education Federation" to achieve international accreditation in Iraq.

    The ministry’s spokesman, Dr. Haider Al-Aboudi, told Al-Sabah: “Iraq’s procedures that it has initiated towards projects and initiatives to attract international students must be completed with the station of internationalization of education in it,” noting that “the programs and scientific climate will provide the country with impetus at the level of achieving joint scientific programs.” Twinning, exchanging experiences, attracting international students and teachers, and providing an environment for training Iraqi faculty.”
    He added, "All these data will be reviewed by (the Conference on Internationalization of Education), which will be held in Baghdad next October, with the participation of 90 universities, including 50 universities that fall within the major international rankings, in addition to our national universities, and on this basis there will be a table for dialogues, discussions, brainstorming, and achieving what it requires." Higher education feedback.
    And Al-Aboudi indicated that "the indicators of the presence of Iraqi educational institutions in global rankings and capacities are rising, and this indicator was not unprecedented, and neither space nor time can help our universities to be late, because education today is a global system and common standards, so all international universities aspire to be on this platform, and our universities Our educational institutions are one of them in the region.” He continued, "Iraqi students who study in various countries of the world are holders of Iraqi degrees, and what will be achieved in this conference will coincide with the arrival of a delegation from the (Union for International Medical Education) to examine and diagnose the nature of the educational environment in Iraq in order to achieve international accreditation." For his part, the Executive Director of the "Gulf Conferences" Abd al-Khaleq Muhammad said: "The conference will be the first of its kind in Iraq," noting that "
