Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul Ghani received, on Saturday, the chairman and members of a consortium of Korean companies led by Hyundai, in the presence of the Director General of the Oil Projects Company and the Director General of the Midland Refineries Company.
And the Ministry of Oil stated in a statement that the minister "listened to a briefing presented by a representative of a consortium of Korean companies about plans to gradually increase production to reach design capacities, according to the planned timing."
And the Minister of Oil stressed, "the importance of training workers from national companies, to fully manage the production process in the refinery, by benefiting from international experience and advanced technology in the refining industry."
He emphasized "the economic importance of the Karbala refinery, with a capacity of (140) thousand barrels per day, and its contribution to meeting a large part of the local need, of oil products of high quality."
