Today, Sunday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Plasschaert.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a brief statement received by Mawazine News, "Today, Al-Sudani received in his office the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Plasschaert."
Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani called earlier, during a letter he addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, to end the mandate of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).
Plasschaert's mission in Iraq is scheduled to end within the next few days, while she will be appointed as the United Nations representative in Lebanon.
