According to what was revealed by the Gulf News Network today, Friday, the Kuwaiti authorities imposed new restrictions on the movement of travelers from three countries, including Iraq, related to the transportation of food and its entry into Kuwait.
The network said, according to what was translated by (Baghdad Today), that the Kuwaiti authorities decided to “prevent” Iraqi citizens, in addition to travelers coming from Syria and Lebanon, from transporting any “food and nutritional products, especially those prepared at home” with them into Kuwait, unless they were from a “known source.” .
The Kuwaiti authorities explained, according to a statement by the Director of Customs, Sami Mahmoud Al-Kandari, that the decision comes against the background of recommendations issued by a medical committee responsible for researching communicable diseases between humans and animals, stressing that the recommendations of the committee are keen to prevent transitional diseases that may come from Iraq to Kuwait through food. , according to his description.
The Kuwaiti official also confirmed that the decision excludes canned food by well-known food production agencies, as Iraqi travelers will not be allowed to transport any food with them from inside Iraq to Kuwait unless it is canned and issued by official companies.
