    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Representatives of Dhi Qar Governorate announced today, Tuesday, their refusal to vote on the draft federal budget law to be included on the agenda of next Monday’s session, while they indicated a number of conditions for its passage.
The federal budget bill is scheduled to be included on the parliament's agenda for next Monday's session, according to Mohsen al-Mandalawi, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
The representative of Dhi Qar Governorate, Nissan Al-Zayer, confirmed today, Saturday, that the governorate’s representatives did not vote on the budget law, except after fulfilling a condition.
Al-Zayer, who told (Baghdad Today), said, "Dhi Qar governorate is a disaster-stricken governorate, and there is no achievement in it in terms of reconstruction, and it is completely devoid of infrastructure." She attributed the reasons to "lack of financial allocations, corruption, and mismanagement."
She explained that "Dhi Qar must allocate sufficient funds for it within the budget law in order to establish infrastructure in it," noting that "until now, you do not know what funds are allocated to Dhi Qar within the budget law, because the Parliamentary Finance Committee closed the doors on itself and did not allow For the deputies to view some financial allocations, and to express any opinion regarding the budget paragraphs.
She added, "Dhi Qar deputies decided not to vote on the budget law, in the absence of sufficient financial allocations to establish infrastructure for the province and establish real service projects," stressing by saying, "We will not accept any allocations that give patchwork solutions and are not real to end poor services."
The Badr Parliamentary Bloc also announced earlier,  its refusal to vote on the federal budget without including the differences of the popular crowd in it.
And the bloc announced officially and clearly that it "will not vote and will not have a presence inside the parliament hall on the day scheduled to vote on the draft budget law in the event that the differences of the popular mobilization are not included and the rescinded contracts of our sons in the security forces of all kinds," according to a statement.
The government had sent, earlier, to parliament the draft general budget, which amounted to about 164 trillion dinars (about 113 billion dollars), with a large deficit of about 70 trillion Iraqi dinars (48 billion dollars).
While the Parliamentary Finance Committee announced, the forty-sixth meeting was held within a series of important meetings to complete the federal general budget law for the fiscal years 2023-2024-2025, indicating that it had completed voting on most of the budget items and paragraphs in preparation for submitting it to the presidency of the House of Representatives.
