The Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the ministry will challenge the budget if it is approved and contains a change to the paragraphs that the government included in the budget.
A statement by the media office of the Ministry of Finance, a copy of which Mawazine News received, said, “The Minister of Finance, Taif Sami Muhammad, denies the information circulated through social media and news agencies, which claims that the Minister of Finance made transfers in the draft general budget for the year 2023, which the committee is working on. Finance for the House of Representatives to conduct it.
The statement added, "The Minister of Finance confirms the opposite of what was mentioned, as she paid great attention to defending all the paragraphs contained in the draft budget law, and the Ministry of Finance will challenge the budget if it is approved and contains a change to the paragraphs that the government included in the budget."
And the Minister of Finance stressed, according to the statement, that "what the government included in terms of texts and allocations was in accordance with the study and needs of the ministries and governorates, and it meets all requirements according to the government's vision in its government program, and that any change will hinder the spending operations drawn up by the government to meet all needs."
