Baghdad / Obelisk Al-Hadath: A parliamentary source said, on Sunday, that more than 40% of the members of the House of Representatives left Iraq outside Iraq to perform Hajj at the government's expense, according to the Information Agency.
The source said in an interview, "After voting on the federal budget law, members of the House of Representatives began to leave Iraqi territory to join the pilgrims of the Sacred House of God."
He added that "the percentage of the members of the House of Representatives who left for the Holy Land amounted to more than 40%."
He pointed out that "all travel expenses of members of the House of Representatives were calculated and disbursed from the treasury of the Iraqi state."
The House of Representatives began its legislative recess for the second semester of the first year after the vote on the federal budget law.
