    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Oil expert Kovind Sherwani confirmed today, Sunday, that stopping the export of more than 400,000 barrels of oil from the region via Turkey will not have significant damage, especially after the recent OPEC Plus decision.
Sherwani told (Baghdad Today) that "stopping the export of more than 400,000 barrels of the region's oil via Turkey will not have significant damage in light of the reduction in Iraqi oil exports by a little more than 200,000 barrels, according to the OPEC Plus decision that entered into force on the first day." from last May.
He added, "Export through the Turkish outlet will be very important in the event of cancellation of the cuts or if there are plans to increase production at a high rate," noting that "the Turkish pipeline can export about one million barrels per day."
And he added, "Iraq has been trying for years to increase oil export outlets, to relieve the ports of Basra, which have reached their maximum capacity, and the Ministry of Oil has stated that it aspires to raise production to 6 or 7 million barrels per day by the year 2025. "
And the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul-Ghani, previously announced Iraq's commitment to the decision to voluntarily reduce the declared quantities from the beginning of last April until the end of this year 2023, noting that "Iraq lost nearly (500 thousand barrels) per day as a result of stopping Oil exports through the Turkish port of Ceyhan.
