    The Parliamentary Services Committee confirmed, on Tuesday, that the new Sadr City project changes the reality of services in Sadr City and the surrounding areas.

    A member of the Parliamentary Services and Reconstruction Committee, Mahdia Al-Lami, said: “The project has practically started, and will be accompanied by immediate side projects to provide services in the region,” noting that “the new Sadr City will be similar.” to Bismayah City on an area of ​​two thousand dunums.”

    Al-Lami stated, in a statement, that “there are some problems related to abuses that will be resolved,” pointing out that “the allocation of the necessary funds for the project has been completed, and a contract has been signed with a solid design company to construct 90,000 housing units for the new city.”

    According to a government source, the project consists of three phases, which will be implemented within record periods.

    For his part, a member of the East of the Canal Alliance, Representative Kamel Al-Agaili, expressed optimism about the improvement of services in the region after the establishment of the new Sadr City.

    Al-Aqili believed that “the project will improve the services of the region after the approval of the Prime Minister, and the preparation of plans and designs by the Municipality of Baghdad in cooperation with a specialized consulting office.” City on it.”

    Al-Aqili stressed that the new Sadr City "will constitute a qualitative leap in services and includes infrastructure and high-quality specifications," and indicated that "there are obstacles that will be overcome in terms of compensating citizens, while there are no logistical problems." .”

    And the Municipality of Baghdad had signed, last month, a contract with a consulting services company to prepare designs for the new Sadr City, as the contract included taking into account the environmental, life and living aspects of the population.[/rtl]
