Today, Wednesday, the head of the Border Ports Authority, Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, affirmed his full support for the Customs Authority to establish a networking operations center for sonars.
A statement of the authority, which was received by "Al-Iqtisad News", stated that "the head of the Border Crossings Authority, Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, received the Director General of the General Authority of Customs, Hassan Hammoud Al-Agaili, at the Networking Operations Center."
The statement added, "The meeting included a visit to the sonar networking operations center at the border crossings authority's headquarters, in order to review the experience of networking sonar systems operating at the border crossings."
He pointed out, "An explanation was provided about the mechanism of work of the operations center in terms of checking sonar images and analyzing them electronically, and reviewing the experience for the purpose of implementing it in the General Authority of Customs and benefiting from the measures taken by the Border Crossings Authority for the sake of integration in the linking process."
Al-Waeli stressed that "the authority is ready to provide full support to the customs authority in order to establish the center in order to achieve tighter control over commercial exchange operations at the border crossings."
