{Local: Al-Furat News} Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Moin Al-Kadhimi, revealed today, Tuesday, the hope of implementing the “salary scale” law in 2024.
A useful summary of important news can be found on the Al-Furat News channel on Telegram. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Al-Kadhimi said {to Al-Furat News} that: “No action can be taken regarding the salary scale during the remainder of the current year, but there are expectations that the government will take into account the issue of this law during the next year 2024.”
He explained, "There is a serious study of this file so that the nominal salaries of the tenth grades to the fifth grade will be raised."
Al-Kadhimi added, "He is also currently examining the possibility of reducing the salaries of some higher grades to provide financial liquidity and achieve social justice."
This law, which the government withdrew, collides with political disagreements and ministerial objections that are likely to delay its legislation, as it concerns a wide segment, namely employees, specifically those with weak and simple incomes. According to members of the House of Representatives, the new salary scale may be approved at the beginning of next year.

    Options for passing the law.
Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Jamal Cougar, referred via {Al-Furat News} to 3 options for passing the salary scale law: that the salary scale be modified within the current amount without any additions, i.e. reducing the upper salaries and increasing the lower salaries within the limited ceiling in the budget, or through A supplementary budget for the salary scale or its postponement with the 2024 budget.

    The House of Representatives
and the Parliament addressed the Council of Ministers to include “amending the salary scale” on its agenda. The
Parliamentary Legal Committee promised that the implementation of the salary scale project would not be a financial burden on the state, as there would be a rotation and transfer of funds. The
Parliamentary Finance Committee previously announced that the salaries of the lower grades would increase according to the scale. The new law will be 150 percent, while she indicated that the new law will grant 50 percent allowances to all employees.
The head of the committee, Atwan Al-Atwani, said that we are proceeding with steps to amend the salary scale for state employees in a way that achieves justice, indicating that the new salary scale is currently being presented to a committee of experts to give the final opinion. It is then transferred to the Council of Ministers for approval.
