    Iraq aims to move forward with the implementation of the Nebras project, the largest petrochemical plant in the Middle East, and remove all obstacles and challenges that delayed the start of implementing the joint project with the international company Shell.

    In this context, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Izzat Saber, chaired a meeting to follow up on administrative and technical procedures and review the global consultant’s report on the Nebras Petrochemical Complex project.

    The Undersecretary for Gas Affairs stressed the importance of accelerating and proceeding with the procedures for implementing the Nebras Project, the largest petrochemical plant in the [url=https://www.alsumaria.tv/Entity/47078/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B4%D8%B1%D9%82 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A3%D9%88%D8%B3%D8%B7/ar/]Middle East[/url], as it is one of the most important strategic productive industrial projects in the country.



    The largest petrochemical plant,
    Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Gas Affairs, Izzat Saber, said that the meeting included discussing the items of the initial report of the global consultant regarding the project’s axes, the economic feasibility study, and the requirements for the stages of implementing work for the investment project, in a way that achieves the highest financial and economic benefit for [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and the parties contributing to it.

    He pointed out the signing of the basic principles with Shell for the Nebras project, according to a Cabinet decision on January 28, 2015, which includes a refinery with a capacity of 300,000 barrels next to a huge petrochemical plant.

    He pointed out that the project relies on exploiting natural gas surpluses to manufacture various petrochemical products, with a planned production capacity of approximately two million tons annually, to form a solid industrial base that supports the plastic and rubber industries, and all related industries.
