The Ministry of Health revealed that it has reached advanced stages of referring 16 new hospitals to implementation in districts and districts throughout the country, while the Minister of Health, Dr. Saleh Al-Hasnawi, opened yesterday, Friday, the open-heart surgery center in the city of Fallujah.
Al-Hasnawi told “Al-Sabah”: The Ministry, in cooperation with a consulting office, completed the approval of the hospital designs and the process of listing them in the Ministry of Planning and announcing them was completed, and during the first half of the current year, funds were allocated and prepared for the preparatory work and preparation for its establishment.
He explained that the hospitals are being implemented within the government program, and can accommodate 100 beds for each one. They will be implemented in the districts and districts of Baghdad and the governorates and equipped with the latest advanced equipment with the aim of expanding the health service provided to citizens and reducing the pressure on the main hospitals, in addition to preventing referrals from the districts to the governorate centers, thus providing Sufficient bed capacity in governorate centers.
Al-Hasnawi stated that the Ministry is dealing with the file of hospitals and infrastructure according to the Prime Minister’s directives through three levels. The first is completing the lagging projects according to the Diwani Order Committee 45, as there are more than 40 hospitals under construction in all governorates, including 9 in Baghdad, and some of them are approved. It was built on the regional development budget, and another within the investment plan of the Ministry of Health, and reached different levels with its completion, and its total capacity is 9 thousand beds. It will enter service upon completion.
He continued, that the second level is adding new bed capacity to a number of other hospitals, namely Imam Ali (peace be upon him) Hospital affiliated with Rusafa Health, Al-Hakim Hospital in Al-Shuala affiliated with Karkh Health, and the other in Najaf, each with a capacity of 200 beds, while the last level is represented by rehabilitation and development. The old hospitals, as a second phase, will begin during the next few days, including Al-Kadhimiya, Al-Kindi, and Ibn Al-Baladi hospitals. There will be a major and foreseeable change in the provision of health services at the beginning of next year when they are completed.
He added that the Ministry has projects to rehabilitate 9 old hospitals distributed among the governorates, which were initiated after the budget was approved, while continuing to rehabilitate them gradually and continuously in stages because they provide great services to patients and cannot be closed.
In addition, yesterday, Friday, the Minister of Health, Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, opened the specialized center for open-heart surgery and catheter intervention in Fallujah, in the presence of Anbar Governor Ali Farhan and a number of officials in the ministry and the governorate.
A statement from the ministry explained that “the center is part of the government program that focuses on developing the health sector with direct support from Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani,” noting that “the center includes three theaters for emergency operations, catheter intervention, and open-heart surgery, equipped with advanced medical devices equipped with broadcast technology from the halls.” Classroom operations.
