Yesterday, Wednesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Plasschaert, discussed follow-up efforts to make the provincial council elections a success. The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a statement, “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Plasschaert,” noting that “during the meeting, cooperation relations between Iraq and the UN mission were discussed, and the independent strategy for work was reviewed.” The mission in Iraq, and to discuss the joint programs and projects implemented by the mission in a number of regions of Iraq, in addition to following up on the efforts and preparations made for the success of the provincial council elections scheduled for next December.”[/size]
[size=45]The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a statement, “At the beginning of the meeting, Dorrell offered his condolences to the Iraqi government and people, regarding the painful fire accident that occurred in the Al-Hamdaniya district, wishing mercy for the victims and a speedy recovery for the wounded.”[/size]
[size=45]The statement added, “During the meeting, the upcoming visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Iraq was discussed,” noting that “the development of bilateral relations between Iraq and France was discussed, in accordance with the comprehensive strategic agreement signed between the two countries in all fields, especially in the field of investment, economy, energy and the environment.”[/size]
