[ltr]Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi warned on Saturday of terrorist attempts to target civilians, stressing the holding of elections on time and the allocation of large funds to make it a success.[/ltr]
[ltr]"We appreciate the efforts of the holy shrines, the security services and the people of Karbala and the voluntary effort to clean up and educate the visitors," Abadi told a news conference held today in Karbala.[/ltr]
[ltr]He added that "the elections will be held on time and allocated large funds to make it a success," noting that "the participation of the army and the crowd in the elections."[/ltr]
[ltr]"The political process has a lot of flaws and we can fix it."[/ltr]
[ltr]Abadi said that "my visit to Saudi Arabia is not a compliment, but to start a real work for the sovereignty of Iraq," pointing out that "Saudi Arabia has sent aircraft for the first time to its visitors directly to Iraq."[/ltr]
[ltr]The Prime Minister, "the lack of the need for mediation with our people in the northern provinces of Iraq," and expressed regret "to accuse the Peshmerga who did not fight the Iraqi army betrayal."[/ltr]
[ltr]"We have to be cautious," he said, adding that "Iraq lost 100 billion dollars in its war against Dahesh."[/ltr]
[ltr]Abadi pointed out that "there are political groups waiting for a terrorist act to achieve gains."[/ltr]
[ltr]He explained that "Iraq provided the best young people and fighters to maintain security," stressing that "we are keen to prevent the creation of a new generation of deviant thought."[/ltr]
