The head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Atwan Al-Atwani, announced today, Wednesday, that a new agreement had been reached regarding the salaries of Kurdistan Region employees.
Al-Atwani said in a joint press conference with the Minister of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Regional Government, "The new agreement includes continuing to 'localize' the salaries of Kurdistan Region employees in banks approved by the Central Bank of Iraq and financing these banks through the Ministry of Finance."
The Parliamentary Finance Committee held an expanded hearing during which it hosted the Federal Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, the Minister of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Region, Awat Sheikh Janab, the Head of the Federal Audit Bureau, Ammar Al-Mashhadani, and the Head of the Prime Minister’s Office in the Kurdistan Region, Omid Sabah.
