    Information/Baghdad..
The Teachers Syndicate monitored some candidates for the local elections scheduled to be held at the end of this year, exploiting schools to promote them, announcing that it will address the Council of Ministers, to distance the school campus from the political process.
Captain Abbas Al-Sudani said in a statement reported by the official newspaper, followed by the “Al-Ma’louma” Agency, that “the union monitored interventions with the aim of promoting some local election candidates within the school campus, by providing privileges to educational groups.”
He pointed out that "some schools in Baghdad and the governorates witnessed the promotion of some candidates for the local elections, and some influential people interfered in some educational matters and decisions with the aim of promoting them, such as transfer, admission, and exceptions. This was considered unacceptable and incorrect behavior that must be stopped, in order to preserve the independence of the school campus." ".
He revealed that "some candidates, through their campaigns, exempted some school principals and transportation teachers, pointing out that it is hoped that official communications will be conducted with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to intervene with the aim of preventing the recurrence of such cases."
Al-Sudani called for "urgent intervention from higher authorities to end such cases, to distance the school campus from the political process, and to limit its role to educating generations and building them intellectually and educationally." Ended/25
