    A member of the negotiating delegation to Baghdad, appointed by the Supreme Committee for the referendum in the Kurdistan region Saadi Bireh, on Tuesday, details of the meeting with the delegation of Prime Minister Haider Abadi.
    "Abadi was flexible during the meeting, and we told him that the people of Kurdistan had come to the conclusion that the referendum would be held for independence from Iraq," Bira told reporters after the delegation met with Abadi.
    "We expressed our concerns about the future of Iraq and our fear of war," he said. "Abadi responded well during the meeting and assured us of reaching a satisfactory outcome through dialogue."
    The member of the delegation, that "the Prime Minister said during the meeting that Kurdistan has political and economic independence and has Peshmerga forces that do not raise the Iraqi flag."
