Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The political advisor to the Prime Minister, Fadi Al-Shammari, said that the dollar file is complex and needs time, indicating that the government and the Central Bank are racing against time to stop smuggling operations and control it.
Al-Shammari said that the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Ali Al-Alaq, is continuing his work and there is no movement towards changing him.
He added that the dollar file is complex and needs time, and the government and the Central Bank are racing against time to stop smuggling operations and control it, pointing out that the Central Bank, in cooperation with the private banking sector, launched the (Visa Direct) service, which will serve small and medium merchants in terms of speed in transferring amounts within less than 30 minutes through bank accounts and an electronic application.
He went on to say that the dollar crisis needs time and requires commitment to the platform by increasing merchants’ compliance with the system and working in accordance with the instructions of the Central Bank, noting that Iraq has been depleted by the currency auction for two decades, and calls have increased to address counterfeit invoices through the currency auction file and close the door on the corrupt. .
He concluded his speech by saying that Iraq is moving towards catching up with the global financial system.
