Holy Karbala: Fadel Al-Ali
The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, said: The government takes into account ensuring a balance between protecting the local producer and the consumer, while he indicated that Iraq is witnessing an attack of illegal trade that aims to keep Iraq a depleting consumer market for imported goods. Foreign currency.
Yesterday, Saturday, Al-Sudani opened an integrated poultry project in the Holy Governorate of Karbala, which is considered the largest poultry project in Iraq, implemented by the private sector in the Holy City of Karbala, as the project’s annual productivity exceeds the barrier of 3 billion eggs and 340 thousand tons of meat.
Al-Sudani toured the sections of the factory and was briefed on the laboratory tests and their compliance with the qualitative specifications. He also looked at the production processes in its various lines and all its stages.
The Prime Minister’s Media Office quoted Al-Sudani as saying: “The project will help meet the needs of the local market, and through these projects we will reach self-sufficiency, thus achieving a breakthrough in the reality of investment in the agricultural sector and the advancement of livestock,” indicating “the trend towards revitalizing the agricultural sector; “Because it is one of the important economic sectors on which the government’s economic reform program depends, and this project is the result of cooperation between the government and the private sector.”
He praised “the role of Karbala Governorate; “Because of the necessary facilities and approvals provided, which contributed to the completion of this project in record time,” he directed the Ministry of Agriculture to “prepare the necessary means for the success of such projects, and to provide field presence to overcome problems.”
He pointed out that “the government takes into account ensuring a balance between protecting the local producer and the consumer, and the necessity of providing agricultural and animal products to citizens at available prices, while being careful not to abort such ambitious projects that provide job opportunities for many graduates in various specializations.”
Al-Sudani stated, “Iraq is witnessing an attack of illegal trade aimed at keeping Iraq a consumer market for imported goods that deplete foreign currency. We have done a lot to reach clear and known trade, subject to global financial compliance standards, so that we only import the real commodity that the country needs.” Although there are attempts to circumvent the state’s decisions so that suspicious trade continues.”
It is noteworthy that the project relies on modern technology and standards conforming to international specifications, in addition to providing integrated infrastructure. It includes emergency generators for electricity, water wells, and filtration equipment. It is also based on a vital security system, with a central fuel station for its vehicles.
Following the opening of the project, the Prime Minister stated, in a press conference, that the country has sufficient reserves of wheat after the successful process of planting, harvesting and marketing it by farmers for this season, stressing that the government is continuing to achieve food security.
Al-Sudani said: “The opening of this project is a message of support in general for the Iraqi private sector, which we have placed great confidence in, from the first day of this government’s life, and in its capabilities and capabilities in implementing various projects,” adding, “The agricultural sector represents a fundamental focus of the program.” Government, and we began a series of procedures and decisions, whether by forming a support field, increasing the capital of the Agricultural Bank, or supporting the private sector in implementing projects, both plant and animal.”
The Prime Minister pointed out that “the project represents a true success story in the field of agricultural investments,” and explained that “the advantage of this project is that its implementation was completed in a record period, starting in 2022 on an area of 250 thousand dunums, and that this project employs no less than 9 thousand Between an engineer, a technician, and a craftsman, which is equivalent to 3 ministries.”
He stressed, “We have come an important way in terms of securing the ration card items and what is related to flour by securing the wheat crop, as we have sufficient storage to secure this important food item,” indicating that “this is due to the successful agricultural and marketing plan for last season.”
For his part, Karbala Governor, Engineer Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, considered the Karbala deserts and valleys project to be one of the successful investment projects in the private sector in the governorate and was implemented after the great renaissance that the governorate witnessed in various fields, including stimulating investment and attracting capital.
Al-Khattabi added, “It is one of the important strategic projects in the country with the production of table eggs with a capacity of up to 3 million eggs, in addition to the production of poultry meat at a rate of 306 thousand tons annually and a poultry slaughterhouse with a production capacity of 34 thousand chickens per hour.”
In addition, the Prime Minister received a delegation from the Diabetes Child Care Association, accompanied by a number of children with diabetes, from Baghdad and other governorates.
At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Sudani pointed out the government’s commitment, within its program and work priorities, to the health sector, and to providing the necessary treatment, care, and follow-up for all segments of chronic diseases, especially children with diabetes.
He pointed out that priority in social research and inclusion in social protection was given to this category of children, in accordance with Cabinet Resolution (23528) stipulating that they be included in the salary of a full-time employee, with the exception of the disability rate, as well as their inclusion in the social protection salary, as their requests have exceeded 1,000 requests so far.
Al-Sudani was briefed on the association’s work in providing moral and material support, and listened to its most prominent requirements and the needs of children and their families in providing supplies and treatments. He directed the concerned authorities to facilitate the association’s work and provide for its needs. Because it represents humanitarian volunteer work that has its status, His Excellency also stressed on the concerned authorities in the Ministry of Health, represented by fourteen specialized centers, in addition to public hospitals, to continue expanding diagnosis, providing treatment, and providing all types of necessary medicines.
For their part, the members of the association, who are volunteers with children with infected children, expressed their thanks and appreciation to Al-Sudani and the recent Cabinet decision, describing it as a care and an important gesture to include and expand health care for patients with chronic diseases.
