    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Saturday (November 11, 2023), the Parliamentary Investment and Development Committee revealed the possibility that the investment movement in Iraq will be affected by the exit of many foreign companies supporting Tel Aviv due to Iraq’s position on the war on Gaza.
Committee member Muhammad Radi told Baghdad Al-Youm, “Iraq’s position in support of Palestine and the Palestinian issue will not have any impact on the work of foreign international companies in Iraq.”
He explained that "economic and investment work is not linked to political and popular positions at all. Rather, it depends on the security situation and economic stability, and Iraq is stable security and economically and is an important land for all international investment companies and various sectors."
Many foreign companies operate in Iraq, especially American and European companies, which are known for their support of the Israeli entity, at a time when Iraq is at the forefront on the political and popular levels as well, with firm positions against the Zionist entity and explicitly supporting the Gaza Strip, the Palestinians, and the liberation and resistance movements.
This comes at a time when the US State Department and some European countries are warning against traveling or staying in Iraq as a result of the security situation, with the escalation of the angry security and popular stance towards the American side due to Washington’s position on supporting Tel Aviv against the Palestinians and the ongoing crimes against children and women in the Gaza Strip.
