    The Minister of Trade, Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairi, confirmed on Monday that the food basket items are insured for four months and are of high quality.
    Al-Ghurairi confirmed in a statement seen by Al-Eqtisad News that “his ministry, within its objectives, was able to secure food security reserves for four upcoming food baskets and achieve self-sufficiency in wheat sufficient for the next marketing season and more, with the intensification of monitoring campaigns to follow up on agents and food prices in the local market, during which they were controlled.” Dozens of damaged, adulterated and smuggled materials, in coordination with the security services, and taking legal measures against the manipulators .
    He pointed out that “the Ministry is concerned, according to its law, with drawing up the country’s internal and external trade policy, activating joint committees and trade agreements between Iraq and its external environment, supporting the private sector, and improving the business environment .”
    He stressed that “next year will witness the opening of seven marketing centers in Baghdad in addition to the opening of 15 marketing centers in the rest of the country’s governorates,” and the plan for the coming years includes the opening of 150 centers, according to a modern electronic system .
    He continued, "Among other projects is the construction basket project, which will be implemented at the beginning of next February, as well as the completion of the implementation of the ration card automation project in the rest of the country's governorates next year." “ The governorates in which the modernization took place .”
