Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani affirmed, today, Saturday, Iraq’s position rejecting any aggression against Iraqi lands.
Al-Sudani's office stated in a statement, a copy of which was received by Mawazine News, that "the Prime Minister received a phone call from US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken."
During the call, the Prime Minister affirmed “Iraq’s position rejecting any attack on Iraqi lands,” noting that the attack on the Jurf al-Nasr area represented a violation of Iraqi sovereignty. At the same time, Al-Sudani renewed “the Iraqi government’s commitment to protecting the international coalition’s advisors present in Iraq.
The statement added, "The call discussed developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, and the efforts made by Iraq to contain the dangerous repercussions left by the repeated attacks on the Gaza Strip, and work to stabilize the truce, stop the aggression, and ensure that the war does not expand in a way that constitutes a real threat to security and stability in the region.
