Baghdad: Muhammad al-Ansari,
Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, yesterday, Wednesday, condemned the attack that targeted the Jurf al-Nasr area, while directing the security services to carry out their duties and implement and enforce the law.
The official government spokesman, Bassem Al-Awadi, said in a statement: “The Iraqi government confirms that it is dealing with the recent escalation, which the Iraqi arena witnessed during the past two days, as a dangerous escalation that involves an unacceptable violation of Iraqi sovereignty, which we are committed, under all circumstances, to preserving, preserving and defending.” about it, in accordance with the constitutional and legal duties of the government.”
He added, "We strongly condemn the attack that targeted the Jurf al-Nasr area, which took place without the knowledge of the Iraqi government agencies, which is considered a clear violation of sovereignty and an attempt to disrupt the stable internal security situation," indicating that "the Iraqi government is exclusively concerned with implementing the law and holding violators accountable, which is a right." It is exclusive to it, and no external party has the right to perform this role on its behalf, which is unacceptable according to Iraqi constitutional sovereignty and international law.”
Al-Awadi continued, “The government stresses that it is the body constitutionally responsible for drawing and implementing state policies, maintaining order and stability, and defending internal security, and that any armed action or activity committed from outside the military institution is considered a condemnable act and an activity outside the law.”
He pointed out that "the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces directed all the armed forces and all security agencies to carry out their duties, implement and enforce the law, and not allow any party to disturb or harm the country's security and stability."
The Popular Mobilization Forces announced, in a statement, that “a number of its positions were subjected, at dawn on Wednesday, to treacherous American attacks, as a result of which 8 were martyred and 4 were wounded,” indicating that “the attacks included (the Jazeera Operations Command) within the Jurf al-Nasr sector north of Babylon, which targeted our heroic fighters.” Al-Mourabitoun while performing their sacred national duty,” reiterating “its full and complete commitment to the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces as part of Iraq’s security, military, and defense system.”
