    Today, Sunday, Parliamentary Finance confirmed the formation of a subcommittee including and advisors in the central government and the Kurdistan region in order to amend the salaries file in the 2023 budget.

    A member of the Finance Committee, Jamal Kujar, said in an interview followed by “Al-Maalouma” that “the formation of the committee came under orders from Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani in order to formulate and amend the budget and reach a solution to overcome the Kurdistan region’s salaries crisis,” indicating that “the committee includes members from Finance.” And some central government advisors and members from the region.”
    He added, "The amendment includes two issues. The first is related to transferring and settling the salaries of Kurdistan Region employees and transferring them from actual spending to governing expenditures, and the second file includes the production costs of the region's oil," explaining that "the purpose of amending the last paragraph is to calculate the cost as it would be in the case of oil extraction in Baghdad." ".
    He pointed out that "there will be terms between the two parties, which the region is obligated to implement and pay what it owes through the amount of oil, which reaches 85 thousand barrels per day."
    Koger pointed out that “it is expected that the joint committee will hold its meeting next week or the following.”
    He stated, “The amendment will be to the 2023 budget, since the 2024 budget has not yet arrived, and if the amendment is made, it will be directly confirmed in next year’s budget.” Ended/25
