Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Transport announced a new achievement in the five berths project in the Grand Al-Faw Port.
A statement from the Ministry’s media office, received by Al-Eqtisad News, stated that “the full number of the (2072) elements for the manufacturing of bridge embraces, which are pre-cast elements, has been completed, and which were completely manufactured in the pre-cast element casting yard No. 1) Located in the container yard.
The Ministry explained, “This large number of these pieces indicates the magnitude of the work on the sidewalks,” explaining, “The process of installing these pieces continues in Section (18) towards Section (19).”
The statement pointed out that the Director General of Iraqi Ports, Dr. Farhan Al-Fartusi, confirmed that the implementation of these works was carried out based on the directives of the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi, which stresses the importance of concerted efforts in completing the Grand Al-Faw Port.
It is noteworthy that the project to establish the container terminal for the Grand Al-Faw Port, which is one of the five projects of the project, includes the construction of five giant berths for unloading ships with a length of (1,750) meters, and the establishment of a container yard with a length of (1,750) metres.
