Yesterday, Wednesday, the preparatory meeting of the 61st Executive Council of the Arab Towns Organization began, which is being held in the capital, Baghdad, under the patronage of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani and with the participation of 15 countries.
The Mayor of Baghdad, Ammar Moussa, said in a statement: “Holding this conference in the capital, Baghdad, under the auspices of the Prime Minister, is evidence of the return of normal relations between Iraq and its Arab brothers,” noting that “the meetings of this session will produce results and recommendations that serve the service, architectural, and urban reality of our Arab cities.”
He added, "This session will result in projects to exchange experiences with Arab countries that have come a long way in providing services and the reconstruction and construction movement," noting that "everyone notices that Baghdad is witnessing an ongoing and large reconstruction and construction campaign, and there is an exceptional effort being made by the Iraqi government with direct follow-up from the Prime Minister."
