The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, said on Sunday that the recent American bombing of the Popular Mobilization Forces positions establishes a “law of the jungle approach,” calling on the government to “take action” in order to stop these attacks.

Al-Maliki said in a tweet on the “X” website, “The American assault on Iraq’s sovereignty and the killing of its people in cold blood has been repeated in an unprecedented manner, without deterrence from the international community. We denounce the targeting and assassination of a number of our sons from the Iraqi forces in their fixed headquarters.” We affirm that the Iraqi government has the right to take action at all levels in order to stop and condemn these attacks.”

Al-Maliki added, "This act establishes the law of the jungle approach and brings more killing and vandalism that is unjustified in international laws, the Bill of Human Rights, and the falsely claimed values of civilization."

Al-Maliki continued, "Iraqis do not accept injustice and cannot be patient with belittling the lives of their children. There must be a responsible national stance from everyone that protects the sovereignty of the country and the lives of the people. Mercy for the martyrs, healing for the wounded, and patience for their families and all Iraqis."

Yesterday, Saturday, February 3, 2024, the Popular Mobilization Forces announced a new toll of the American bombing on security headquarters in the Al-Qaim district, which represented the death of 16 and the injury of 36 members, while indicating that the search is still ongoing for the bodies of a number of missing people.
